Mary L. G. Theroux - Independent Institute

Mary L.G. Theroux is Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Chief Executive Officer, of the Independent Institute. Having received her A.B. in economics from Stanford University, 

Ms. Theroux is Managing Director of Lightning Ventures, L.P., a San Francisco Bay Area investment firm, and Vice President of the C.S. Lewis Society of California. She is former Chairman and current member of the Advisory Boards of the San Francisco Salvation Army and the Alameda County Salvation Army, and served on the National Advisory Board of The Salvation Army from 2003-2022.

Having been a director of nine corporations and three foundations, Ms. Theroux was also Chairman of Garvey International, Inc., and Co-Founder, President, and CEO of San Francisco Grocery Express, Ltd. 

Articles on Ms. Theroux have appeared in Business Week, Forbes, Savvy, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and other publications. She is a co-author of Beyond Homeless: Good Intentions, Bad Outcomes, Transformative Solutions, and produced the accompanying documentary, “Beyond Homeless: Finding Hope.”

Dinner Buffet: Mediterranean chicken with artichokes, sundried tomatoes/olives, caesar salad, fresh roasted vegetables, pasta with marinara sauce, bread/butter. Vegan option must be reserved in advance - penne pasta+tofu. Special Bring a Guest Month - only $25* + NEW Membership Deal

Guests of Members will only pay $25 for their dinner meal and they will be able to join MDRC for $50.00 and obtain a membership for both the rest of 2024 and all of 2025.

Opportunity Drawing + Wine Donation (Please)

 

Opportunity Drawing - This fundraiser will offer 6 bottles of wine and a pound of Danville Chocolates. Total value is approximately $200. Tickets are available at the meeting by cash or check - 5 tickets for $20 or 2 tickets for $10. There will be one winner.

 Wine Donation Please for Future Fundraisers - Please donate a bottle of wine for future fundraisers.  Simply bring a donated bottle of wine to the meeting and give it to the volunteer at check-in.  The wine should have a value of at least $25, and also should be newly purchased (fresh). You will be given two tickets for the Opportunity Drawing as a thank you for your donation.
